ASCO Exhibits at HOSA and NAAHP in June
ASCO staff was busy the last week in June promoting ASCO’s Optometry Gives Me Life public awareness campaign at both the HOSA International Leadership Conference and the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (NAAHP) meetings.
Both of these meetings were moved to a virtual format due to the pandemic. Formerly known as the Health Occupations Students of America, the HOSA conference brought together future health professionals (mostly high school students) and their advisors to learn about the many different healthcare careers.
Paige Pence, ASCO Director of Student and Residency Affairs, participated in a NAAHP Town Hall session for advisors along with staff from other health professions associations to answer questions from advisors about the different healthcare career options for the students they advise. Ms. Pence also participated in the NAAHP Virtual Fair for advisors and prospective students on June 27 to promote the career of optometry.
