CooperVision and Johnson & Johnson Vision
Joins Optometry Gives Me Life Campaign
ASCO is delighted to share that its Optometry Gives Me Life campaign continues to gain momentum with the support of two new lead sponsors, CooperVision and Johnson & Johnson Vision.
Optometry Gives Me Life was launched in March 2019 to address the downward decline of applicants to optometry schools and colleges, as well as raise awareness of optometry as a career choice to the best and brightest students. In addition to increasing the number of qualified applicants, the campaign addresses the lack of diversity within the profession. The goal is an increase of 100% of Hispanic/Latino and African American/Black applicants, therefore creating a more diverse and qualified applicant pool for the profession overall.
Johnson & Johnson Vision joins Alcon as a Trailblazer sponsor, donating $100,000 to the campaign. CooperVision pledged $75,000 to be a Visionary sponsor, joining Essilor, Luxottica, and VSP Global.
As lead supporters of the campaign, industry representatives play an active role in moving the campaign forward by participating in the newly formed Applicant Pool Advisory Committee.
ASCO is grateful for the continued support of our industry partners and is proud to work together to grow awareness of optometry as a career option.
