SCCO Uses ASCO’s Optometry Gives Me Life Videos During Spring Admissions Open House
With the world totally Zoomed out after over a year of quarantine due to COVID-19, SCCO admissions was faced with how to host a virtual event that people wanted to attend and to stay logged into the entire time, specifically the Virtual Spring Admissions Open House. They needed to be engaging, informative, with changing content, or they’d lose the opportunity to share more about the profession of optometry with their viewers.
After attending several virtual events and conferences, one thing was apparent: they needed videos. Fun ones. Short ones. Ones that caught viewers’ attention that are informative with high production value.
SCCO admissions staff realized they have access to videos such as those, ASCO’s Optometry Gives Me Life (OGML) campaign videos. With the OGML streaming videos readily available, they kicked off the event with featured OD Miki Zilnicki’s down to earth, family focused 60 second video, jumped into Dr. Jeffrey Lewis’s smooth beats before their admissions presentation, then grooved with Dr. Muriel Martinez before a PowerPoint about their program. The lively videos, upbeat music and relatable professionals were the perfect way to mix up the content and keep viewers engaged.
The OGML features are well organized and accessible so that SCCO staff was able to quickly find what they needed and pop the content into their Spring Admissions Open House program.
