Team up with Optomed to Close the Gap on Diabetic Retinopathy Screening!
Optomed, the world leader in handheld fundus imaging, has developed an opportunity for doctors, students and graduates to assist in reading images for Community Health Centers that do not have on-site eye care and want to develop their program to close the gap on diabetic retinopathy screening. Community Health Centers serve as safety-net healthcare services to vulnerable populations across America.
Optomed understands the importance of detecting and treating blinding eye diseases early. One such disease, diabetic retinopathy, is a tremendous strain on the optometric/patient community. A solution to this dilemma is to have a verified screening program capable of supporting the needs of the patient.
The Optomed Aurora handheld camera provides portability for use between clinics and outreach programs delivering in-home screening services.
Optomed is working to close the diabetic retinopathy gap for these communities in need. Simply register here if you are interested in being part of the Optomed Image Reading Community.
CPT code reimbursement is available per image read. This is a great learning experience for students with the support of their professors. Eye care clinics who sign up will be matched with Community Health Centers in their area. Working together we can close the diabetic retinopathy gap!
