Topics Discussed:

• One of the main discussion points of this meeting was around the topic of telehealth. SIG members were interested in finding out what each institution is doing to implement telehealth into their clinic laboratories as more and more students are being employed for telehealth specific jobs.
• Other points of discussion included:
  • How artificial intelligence is being utilized in institutions?
  • How are schools and colleges teaching retinoscopy?
  • What integrated communication platforms are schools using?
  • What exam software schools are schools using?

Actions:

• The SIG decided it would like to send out a survey regarding telehealth implementation in everyone’s respective schools and share the results with each other.
• The SIG also decided they would like to meet more frequently than their current meeting schedule.
