Cochran Documents History of Mississippi Optometry

Southern College of Optometry President Emeritus William E. Cochran, OD, has authored a new book, Optometry in Mississippi: 1920-2020.

Prior to serving as SCO’s president from 1984-2007, Dr. Cochran served as president of the Mississippi Optometric Association. Both of his parents and a grandfather were Mississippi ODs. Dr. Cochran’s mother also was the first woman to practice optometry in the state.
