Arizona College of Optometry Graduates 52 New Doctors of Optometry
On June 2, Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Optometry celebrated the class of 2022 by graduating 52 new optometrists.
As part of the ceremonies, the Class of 2022 valedictorian Dr. Joel Naberhaus delivered a speech to his fellow classmates. Additionally. Kathleen H. Goeppinger, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer of Midwestern University, acknowledged the many achievements of the graduates during their years of rigorous study and clinical experiences. Dr. Goeppinger encouraged the graduates to remember the values they learned as Midwestern University students.
“These graduates have had to be resilient and flexible during the pandemic in order to achieve their degrees. One of the things I found very hopeful and promising is that so many of our graduates became leaders while on campus and took the time to participate in community service for the benefit of others. Many of them participated in Midwestern University’s Operation Hope, which allowed the University to provide COVID-19 vaccines to the community. We relied on many of the graduates, faculty, and staff to help the University vaccinate more than 19,000 individuals between both our campuses,” Dr. Goeppinger said.
