ASCO Student Affairs and Admissions Professional Group Meet at Southern College of Optometry
The ASCO Student Affairs and Admissions Professional Group (SAAs) met at the Southern College of Optometry on June 26-27. They discussed a variety of issues, including holistic admissions, student orientation, and held an OptomCAS WebAdMIT training session. The SAAs also enjoyed an evening networking reception at the Majestic Grille in downtown Memphis.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Makenzie Peterson who presented to the group on a Micro, Mezzo, Macro: A Multi Systems-Level Approach to Creating Environments that Optimize Wellbeing. Dr. Peterson is the former Director of Wellbeing at the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges and is currently an Organizational Wellbeing and Strategy Consultant.
There were 31 SAA officers in attendance from 20 schools and colleges of optometry. ASCO would like to thank Alcon for their sponsorship of the SAA meeting.
