Clinicial Directors and Administrators & Externship Directors Special Interest Group Meetings
The Clinical Directors and Administrators and Externship Directors Special Interest Groups (SIGs) held their joint annual meetings at The Ohio State University (OSU) on September 21 – 23, 2023.
Both groups had their meetings at the Ohio Stadium, which included an exhibit hall showcasing sponsors and a tour of the facility.
The Dr. Les Caplan Honorary Lecturer was awarded to Dr. Neil Pence during the Clinical Director & Administrators SIG meeting.
Dr. Neil A. Pence has been a member of the IU School of Optometry faculty since 1979. He currently serves as the Associate Dean for Clinical and Patient Care Services, overseeing all activity in the IUSO clinics and patient care services.
The Dr. Harue Marsden Honorary Lecturer was awarded to Dr. John Nishimoto during the Externship Directors SIG.
Dr. Nishimoto received a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1987. In 1988, he completed a one-year residency in Hospital-Based Geriatric Optometry at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center.
