Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice Special Interest Group Meeting

Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice Special Interest Group Meeting

The Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPECP) Special Interest Group (SIG) held their summit at the home of Dr. Tina Gunaldo, who facilitated an informal conversation starting with her story and journey, motivation, methods to spread buy-in with colleagues, and publication strategies within interprofessional education (IPE).

Dr. Tina Gunaldo is the inaugural Director for the IPECP Office at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at New Orleans.

With a decade of experience in this area, Dr. Gunaldo has over 30 publications and has presented at regional, national and international conferences. Her most recent accomplishments include leading the development of a state-wide IPE consortium, leading the development of a biannual meeting of interprofessional journal editors, co-leading the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative Innovation Task Force, co-chairing the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative Scholarship Committee, serving on the IPEC Expert Panel leveraging the IPEC Competency Framework, and serving on the External Advisory Council for the University of Texas Health San Antonio interprofessional program.

Dr. Gunaldo is the co-editor-in-chief for the Health, Interprofessional Practice and Education Journal and is a co-editor for the textbook Interprofessional Education and Collaboration: An Evidence-Based Approach to Optimizing Health Care. Most importantly, Dr. Gunaldo is supported by a wonderful team of faculty, who have supported and/or integrated IPE into their academic practice.
