2024 National Academy of Medicine Awards Now Accepting Nominations!
Nominations are now open for the National Academy of Medicine's 2024 Gustav O. Lienhard Award for Advancement of Health Care, Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Prize in Mental Health, and the David and Beatrix Hamburg Award for Advances in Biomedical Research and Clinical Medicine.
Nominations will remain open until May 15, 2024

David and Beatrix Hamburg Award for Advances in Biomedical Research and Clinical Medicine
The David and Beatrix Hamburg Award for Advances in Biomedical Research and Clinical Medicine is presented to recognize creative and accomplished biomedical scientists who are advancing health and the human condition around the world.
Named for David Hamburg, who was president of the Institute of Medicine from 1975-1980, and Beatrix Hamburg, a NAM member and expert in child and adolescent behavioral health, this award is accompanied by a medal and $50,000. The award is funded by an endowment that was established in 2004 in honor of the Hamburgs’ life and legacy. Learn more.

Gustav O. Lienhard Award for Advancement of Health Care
The Gustav O. Lienhard Award for Advancement of Health Care recognizes individuals for outstanding achievement in improving health care services in the United States. Nominees should be innovators, pioneers, or implementing creative, sustainable solutions in health care services. The award is accompanied by a medal and $40,000, and the recipient will be invited to present a lecture at the NAM. Support for this award is provided by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Prize in Mental Health
The Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Prize in Mental Health recognizes individuals, groups, or organizations around the world for outstanding achievement in improving mental health. The prize is accompanied by a medal and $20,000. Learn more.
