ASCO Student Affairs and Admissions Professional Group Meet in Nashville
The ASCO Student Affairs and Admissions Professional Group (SAAs) met in Nashville on June 17-18 before the start of the AOA's Optometry’s Meeting. They discussed a variety of issues, including artificial intelligence solutions in the admissions process, preparing optometry students for success, student well-being, and the impact of the Supreme Court decision on diversity, equity, and inclusion recruitment/admissions. Speakers also presented higher education trends and the Optometry Gives Me Life campaign (futureeyedoc.org). The SAAs also enjoyed an evening networking dinner at Sixty Vines in Nashville.
There were 34 SAA officers in attendance from 19 schools and colleges of optometry.
ASCO would like to thank Alcon, EssilorLuxottica, Johnson & Johnson, MyEyeDr, and Specsavers for their sponsorship of the SAA meeting.
