Topcon Incorporates Advanced Digital Technology into the New IS-6500 Ophthalmic Instrument Stand
State-of-the-art instrument stand features a compact footprint, multi-functional touchscreen controls, and a sleek, modern design
Topcon Healthcare, Inc., a leading provider of robotic medical devices and software solutions, has launched the IS-6500, an innovative digital instrument stand, in the US, Latin American, and Canadian markets.
The IS-6500 stand continues Topcon’s more than 40-year tradition of high-quality, ergonomic devices that streamline eye exams and increase efficiency. It incorporates specialized features that can be customized to allow the operator to program well cups and control room lights, reading lamp brightness, and BIO brightness directly from the built-in touchscreen panel.
Users can also personalize settings according to their individual preferences and office workflows. Additionally, the stand features a redesigned slit lamp arm mechanism that provides smooth and fluid movement and ensures stability in all positions, allowing for single-handed adjustment.
Topcon’s digital technology, state-of-the-art electronics, and modern design have been integrated into the instrument stand to create a streamlined examination process. The sleek lines, stylish finish, and thoughtful aesthetics create an impressive and inviting environment for the patient. Another feature is the Bluetooth® connection between the chair and stand*, which minimizes cable clutter and tripping hazards and provides a safer examination environment. The compact base footprint is optimized for smaller exam lanes, making it easier for the operator to maneuver around the stand during an exam.
The IS-6500 is complemented by a wide variety of accessories and options that expand its use, allowing the operator to combine several peripheral instruments, such as a slit lamp and phoropter, with a third arm available for an additional instrument.
“Topcon is at the forefront of stand technology. The integration of digital automation into our instrument stands is a testament to our continued commitment to technical innovation. Topcon’s advanced product design allows eye care professionals to practice more efficiently and enhance their quality of care. We are continually evolving our products and listening to the market’s needs to create feature-rich, cutting-edge solutions for the modern eyecare practice,” said M. Lance Patton, Chief Commercial Officer for Topcon Healthcare, Inc.
