A Short Conversation with Dr. Fraser Horn, ASCO President
During ASCO’s Annual Business meeting in June, ASCO swears in a new President for the upcoming 12 months. This year, Dr. Fraser Horn was sworn in as ASCO’s President.
Dr. Horn is the Dean of the College of Optometry at Pacific College of Optometry. He also has taught in the Sports and Recreational Vision, Ocular Disease I, Applied Ocular Therapeutics, Biomedical Ethics and Ocular Emergencies courses.
Dr. Horn chatted with ASCO’s Communications intern, Jannah Said, to talk about the upcoming year.

The Future Faculty Program is centered on the unique and important issues that graduate students face as they embark on a career in optometric education and is comprised of formal presentations, workshops, small group discussions, one-on-one mentoring opportunities and shared activities in the areas of teaching and learning, scholarship and academic culture.

GOAL: To provide participants with an opportunity to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance their success in an optometric academic environment as lifelong productive faculty, thus contributing to increased retention of faculty in the schools and colleges of optometry.
