Rod Conte

It is with immense sadness that the Ontario School Counsellors’ Association shares the sudden loss of Roderick Conte, Vice-President of Communications, in July 2021.  Rod was a significant member of our OSCA/ACOSO family, serving on the Board of Directors since 2014.  He was our friend, our confidant, our advisor and just a really great listener. Many of you will remember seeing Rod's smiling and helpful face at our annual Conferences, and he was immensely proud of the work he was able to do within the organization. He contributed his gift of marketing with our Professional Development and PD committees and most recently, as Vice-President of Communications. Rod's great flair for writing and navigating the world of e-communication will be greatly missed. His smile and his enigmatic personality were as infectious as his sense of humour - he always made you laugh and knew just what to say. He was a sincerely kind-hearted person who was equally well-loved by his other family, friends, colleagues, and the students at Westmount Collegiate Institute. Rod leaves behind his brother Aaron, his husband Eric, and their beloved ten-month old pup, Pebbles

Rod will be deeply missed by all of us at OSCA/ACOSO. Forever in our hearts, we will smile and think of him fondly, when we remember our time with him.

C'est avec une immense tristesse que nous partageons la perte de Rod Conte, vice-président des communications, en juillet 2021. Rod était un membre important de notre famille OSCA/ACOSO, siégeant au conseil d'administration depuis 2014. Il était notre ami, notre confident, notre conseiller et un très bon auditeur. Beaucoup d'entre vous se souviendront d'avoir vu le visage souriant et serviable de Rod lors de nos conférences annuelles. Il a apporté son don de marketing au sein de notre comité de développement professionnel et, plus récemment, en tant que vice-président des communications. Le grand talent de Rod pour l'écriture et la navigation dans le monde de la communication électronique nous manquera beaucoup. Son sourire était aussi contagieux que son sens de l'humour - il vous faisait toujours rire et savait exactement quoi dire. C'était une personne sincèrement bienveillante qui était tout aussi bien aimée de sa famille, de ses amis, de ses collègues et des élèves du Westmount Collegiate Institute. Il laisse derrière lui son mari, Eric, et leur chiot bien-aimé de dix mois, Pebbles.

Rod nous manquera tous en tant qu'OSCA/ACOSO. Pour toujours dans nos cœurs, nous sourirons quand nous nous souviendrons de notre temps avec lui.
