The Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) is excited to announce the launch of the Future Veterinarian Bursaries, designed to support equity-deserving high school students interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.

These bursaries aim to break down financial barriers that have historically limited diversity within the profession, as highlighted by findings from OVMA’s research. Education

When applying to postsecondary education, students and parents can find themselves grappling with the weighty decision of selecting the right program. We often assume that this important decision will open the door to a singular occupation that will determine the future of our entire career. However, the reality is that most careers are not linear, and the skills and knowledge gained from various academic disciplines can be applied to an array of occupations.

Young Canadians are making career decisions in a labour market context that is being transformed by technology and digitization. The rapid, unbalanced shifts brought on by technology and automation have left gaps in knowledge related to how young people are navigating their career decisions considering the emergence of the digital economy and the way career practitioners can best support young people in successfully exploring career options. This study explored factors that helped and hindered 14 young adults who self-identified as doing well navigating career decision-making within the multiple options, opportunities, and challenges posed by the digital economy.
