Each week, as I compile the information for the newsletters, I’m met with the task of finding or compiling the information that we, at OSCA, think would be important to our readers.  I’m forever grateful to the all the contributors who keep me well informed. I find myself musing about all the wonderful things that our OSCA members may be doing this summer: travelling, attending or teaching workshops, gardening, completing a home project, parenting...and I wonder if anyone wonders as much as I do. While musing about our members, an idea is born: Member Musings. 

So, here’s the idea. If a member would like to contribute to the newsletter about a summer time guidance thought, send it to the editor at grace.m.osmond@gmail.com.

Here are the requirements:

• One photo, with no faces
• Article is 400 words maximum. Submitted by email, Word document, or Google document.
• Article is split into one small introductory paragraph for the initial summary
• Article must have some connection with guidance
• There is a title with your name
• Editing rights remain with editor for final publication (layout and word count)
• Member Musings will run for only the summer months
• See below for article example
• Deadline is by Monday night at 11:59 pm

Did you know that this newsletter has a convenient way of accessing previous newsletter editions? Go to the top of the newsletter page and find the link that says "Archive." When you click on that link, it will take you to all our past newsletter editions dating back to our starting date with Naylor Association Solutions on February 27, 2019. It's a great way of making sure you remain aware of all the information we bring you each week.

The conference is approaching. This year's conference is shaping up to be something you won't want to miss. A new partnership with Student Mental Health Ontario, a new location sponsored by University of Toronto Mississauga Campus, a new date, and new workshops with new themes, mean that there is bound to be an OSCA Nugget for everyone to take away! Look for more upcoming information on the OSCA/ACOSO Website as well as in the next edition of the OSCA Today magazine.

See all 21 Ontario universities under one roof at the 2019 Ontario Universities' Fair (OUF)! The OUF takes place September 27-29, 2019, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Admission is free! 

The OUF Passport registration website will open in July at www.ontariouniversitiesfair.ca/passport. 

By registering for an OUF Passport, students receive a QR code that they take to the OUF and get scanned at university booths and presentation rooms of their choice.

It's the easiest way for them to share their contact information to receive more info about the universities they are interested in. 

OUF Guidance Counsellor Tool Kit 
We've compiled a tool kit to assist you with promoting the OUF to your students. It includes key messages, sample school announcements, social media posts and ways to follow the OUF on social media. 

Next steps for you: 

• View the OUF Tool Kit at: www.ouac.on.ca/guidance/counsellor-resources/ouf-tool-kit
• Leave messaging about the OUF on your school sign for the summer and help keep the event on everyone's radar.
• Share the OUF messages in your morning announcements and via the school communication app Remind.
• Follow the OUF on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and share our posts.
• Add the OUF to the calendar on your school website.
• Include information about the OUF on your school website for parents to access.
• Schedule social media posts for August and September.
