The Automotive Business School of Canada at Georgian College was created in 1985 by the automotive industry to prepare young people to thrive and lead the businesses of the future.

We are still very much supported by the automotive industry across the country to prepare our graduates for business careers with new vehicle manufacturers, vehicle dealerships, the aftermarket parts and service organizations, and related organizations such as finance, technology and consulting businesses.

We offer a two-year diploma as well as an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration in Automotive Management. They are business programs specializing in the automotive industry with up to 12 months of paid co-op work experience. Our students are passionate about cars but don’t want to become engineers or mechanics. For more information, you can go online to www.absc.ca or contact us at absc@georgiancollege.ca.

Post Secondary Information
Every year from 2010 to 2015, more than 320,000 students enrolled in a postsecondary program in Canada. While most of these students successfully completed their studies and earned a certificate, diploma or degree, others dropped out or switched programs along the way.

This release includes seven data tables that show the pathways of post-secondary students over a five-year period. Students enrolled in five educational programs were studied: those working toward college certificates and diplomas, undergraduate degrees, master's degrees or doctoral degrees.

Webinar #2 Developmentally Aligned Career Programming for PK-12 Students: The Conceptions of the Career Choice and Attainment Model
Date: Friday, November 1, 2019, 12:00 pm ? 1:00 pm ET
Presenter: Kimberly A. S. Howard, Boston University, USA
Cost: Free

Overview

The most effective learning activities are those designed with the development level of the learner in mind. It is expected that education curricula in academic subject areas, such as math, reading and science, are created and implemented in such a way that they are well matched to the cognitive abilities of the students in the classroom. The same principle should be applied to the area of career development. The Conceptions of Career Choice and Attainment (CCCA) model provides a six-level framework from which we can understand the way children reason about career-related processes, and how this reasoning changes over time.

Why You Should Attend

In this free webinar, Kimberly A.S. Howard will introduce the key features of the CCCA model and how it can be used by school-based professionals and youth development practitioners to identify the types of interventions that encourage children to develop more sophisticated reasoning about career development and occupational goals.

Webinar Learnings

  • The importance of considering cognitive developmental level when designing career education programs for children and youth
  • The key features of the CCCA model
  • The nature of career reasoning demonstrated by students in each of the 6 CCCA levels
  • How to align their career programming to meet students'' career development needs
