GAME BRAiN is a free presentation funded by the Ministry of Health which informs youth on the risks of gambling. GAME BRAiN will be available to all Ontario High Schools starting this fall. The GAME BRAiN presentation targets students in grades 9-12 and highlights the risks of gambling, how to avoid these risks and where to get help. Research has shown that youth are 2-4 times more likely to develop a gambling problem than adults, so it is important for youth to be aware of the realities of gambling, the risks involved and where to get help if need be. For more info on GAME BRAiN please click on the GAME BRAiN info sheet which includes a short video and booking form. To date, over 50,000 students across Ontario have found GAME BRAiN to be educational, engaging and a great way to learn about gambling risks.

Province introducing new mandatory learning on mental health starting this upcoming school year. May 1, 2023 Ministry of Education BURLINGTON — Following a motion in the legislature by Natalie Pierre, Member of Provincial Parliament for Burlington, to strengthen mental health learning and supports in the classroom, the Ontario government is updating the Grade 10 Career Studies curriculum and is introducing mandatory resources for teachers and students on mental health literacy in Grades 7 and 8. These resources, developed in consultation with experts, would support students as they achieve and prepare for the next steps in their future. Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education, and MPP Pierre also announced an additional $12 million this year and $14 million next year to provide mental health services over the summer months. This funding will further students’ access to school-based mental health professionals and services year-round, with the aim of providing students consistent and reliable support, responding to a key recommendation of families and student trustees.
When Emma first noticed Imposter Syndrome sneaking in, she felt like she wasn’t qualified to be in the room. "I've experienced Imposter Syndrome all throughout my career," Emma tells HRD. "This occurred because I felt too young or felt like I didn't have the right experience. It also happened when I was the only woman or only person of colour in a situation or in a key position." And Emma, a global leader in the HR space speaking under the proviso of anonymity, is not alone. Imposter Syndrome is on the rise post-pandemic, with data from The Hub Spot finding that 90% of female employees suffer from it while 48% admit to having intrusive thoughts.
