AMC’s 47th annual convention and trade show was the largest in over 10 years with just over 200 people attending whether it was the supper and trade show, simply the trade show or the entire convention. Relative to 2015 and 2016 when 24% and 32% of registered organizations were manufacturers, this year, saw the largest number of manufacturers attend with more than 41% of the registered organizations being manufacturers.
As such, trade show exhibitors indicated they had quality discussions and appreciated meeting key decision makers and buyers.
The highest ranked session was that of the farmer panel featuring 2 grain farmers and 2 ranchers who spoke about how they purchased their farm equipment, their key challenges and opportunities as well as what they see as future of farming. Interest in the experience, needs and opportunities of farmers is very high with members indicating they would like to hear more. Another key issue identified as important to members through discussions and the post-convention survey results is that of trade. As we will host 6 events in 2018, your feedback on the topics and themes helps us select speakers – we appreciate your input and select themes and speakers accordingly. The feedback overall was positive with some practical suggestions to make the convention better.
Thanks to the 47th Annual Convention and Trade Show Planning committee:

When selecting the city, venue and date for the convention and trade show, we consider the ease and frequency of flights, other industry events and whether the hotel offers open space that enables convenient and easy networking during the down times of the convention agenda. Winnipeg was announced as the location for our 48th Annual Convention and Trade Show. We will host our 2nd Annual Expo in Guelph on April 25. Speakers will be announced in the first quarter of 2018.
Thanks to those who attended and provided feedback on the event. It was a real pleasure to see so many members in one spot. Looking forward to seeing you at 1 of our 6 events in 2018.
