The Professional Development Committee creates, promotes, sets the foundation for, and executes phenomenal Educational Experiences, lovingly known within the Chapter as our “e2” events! These e2s provide members and the community with relevant, career advancing sessions at least five times each year. Members of this committee are in charge of all aspects of logistical planning. We actively seek member feedback to determine which topics have the greatest impact on day-to-day life in the meetings profession.

The MACE Committee presents an annual one-day conference to provide chapter members continuing education credits and networking opportunities. Members of this committee are in charge of all aspects of logistical planning, from topic & speaker selection, room & AV set, transportation and on-site coordination.

The Member Engagement and Community Outreach Committee nurtures the ongoing dialogue between our members and chapter leadership.The committee also focuses on giving back to the community. You can choose to give your time to the American Experience Foundation, a local organization our chapter has partnered with that educates children in the hospitality space. You can also support the chapter directly through event and fundraising initiatives. This team also partners with local associations to advocate for the meetings industry via the Global Meetings Industry Day and other opportunities throughout the year.

We work closely with other committees to drive their results though online engagement of planners and industry partners and have fun doing it.

Member Retention and Recognition is critical to the success of the chapter. This committee works to recognize and show genuine appreciation for the MPI Potomac volunteers who share their time and expertise with our Chapter and the industry. In addition, we act as a supplement to the MPI Global retention program by engaging with new members and members close to renewal time. We also reach out to those whose memberships have expired to get them re-engaged in the chapter.
