Anthony Molino
National Sales Manager
Choose Chicago Anthony Molino, president of the MPI Potomac chapter, has been in the hospitality industry since 2003. His first job was just after college when he moved from Muncie, Indiana, to Chicago, where he worked as a bartender at Red Lobster. The director of human resources at the Chicago Marriott Downtown ate at the bar one night and asked him, “What in the hell are you doing here?” Molino responded, “Because I can’t get enough of this fish shirt!” Two weeks later, Molino started his first hotel job as a Red Coat at the Marriott.
The best career advice that Molino ever received was to “speak up.” He was once told that he wasn’t getting promoted because he needed to learn when to keep quiet and wait until it was appropriate to speak. He says that he doesn’t live in a world where it is easy to just stand back and let things happen whether he likes it or not. His favorite quote is by Dr. Seuss and hangs in his offices: "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
Born in Pickerington, Ohio, Molino then attended high school in Fishers, Indiana, and college in Muncie, Indiana. After college, he spent 12 years in Chicago and five years in Washington, D.C. Molino currently resides in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago. Molino's mom’s spaghetti and Taco Burrito Palace’s Super Nacho are his two favorite foods, and he loves listening to Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, Green Day and P!nk. When asked for his pet peeve, Molino said he is not a fan of loud chewing or crunching.
Molino loves to travel! He doesn’t have a favorite vacation spot because he likes to change it up. The next spot on his list is Croatia. While Molino loves his job, if money were no object, he would be a college professor!
