As the science around climate change evolves, we are learning more and more that the small changes we make in how we live our daily lives, do our business, and produce meetings and events, can make a lasting difference.
Most recently, we are learning ways of how we can be more sustainable for the environment. We need to reduce waste, energy consumption and carbon emissions. The meetings and events industry needs to encourage efficient use of its resources.
Planners and suppliers are learning and adopting sustainability practices to help mitigate the environmental impact and help contribute to a more sustainable future.
Not only are sustainability practices good for the environment, but they also have an economic impact and social impact. Sustainable practices often go hand in hand with cost savings. By optimizing resource usage, reducing waste, and adopting energy-efficient technologies, the industry can achieve operational efficiencies and lower costs. For example, using renewable energy sources, implementing smart energy management systems, or adopting digital solutions can lead to long-term cost savings.
