AROUND NEW ENGLAND
The Holyoke Gas & Electric Department on behalf of all NEPPA members has recently awarded the wood pole bid to Cox Industries for all pentachlorophenol- and CCA-treated wood poles and Bridgewell Resources for all copper napthenate-treated wood poles. The award is effective immediately through the entire 2013 calendar year.

EDUCATION & TRAINING UPDATE

NEPPA is pleased to announce a new addition to our team, Paul Carson, as one of our Technical Trainers. Paul comes to us from Reading Municipal Light Department, where he was the Operations Division Manager for 34 years. While there, Paul ran the line crews, meter group, station crews and engineering group. Paul is excited to be able to get the chance to give back to NEPPA members and share his experiences and knowledge.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
On March 11-13, NEPPA members will be in Washington D.C. to lobby their members of Congress on issues of interest to their utilities. NEPPA will host a breakfast briefing on Tuesday morning (3/12) in the Wilson Room in the Grand Hyatt, where Morgan Meguire will brief NEPPA members and their elected boards before going to Capitol Hill.
