All major North American uncoated recycled board producers have announced a $50/ton price hike for shipments effective early February, Wilde reports (see Published Price Increases below). The price hike is driven by a sharp rise in OCC costs (+ $30 - $40/ton in January). Sonoco is out with a $50/ton hike on all URB grades effective February 1, and an accompanying 4.5% hike on converted products effective February 15. RockTenn and Caraustar have announced a $50/ton price hike on URB grades effective February 8. Ox Paperboard's $50/ton price hike is effective February 1. Newark Group has announced a $40/ton price hike effective February 8
