Economic down time offers an advantageous opportunity for companies to implement new cost-saving strategies and focus lead personnel on proven practices that will position the business for profit and efficiency in boom times. TAPPI announces the offering of the course TAPPI Lean Manufacturing - Flexo and Die Cutters – May 25-27, which delivers a three-day, skills training workshop focused on running die cutters and flexo folder-gluers at maximum efficiency.
The course will be held at TAPPI headquarters near Atlanta and is led by Dick Target, a TAPPI member and one of the industry's most well-respected and knowledgeable experts in lean manufacturing.
Additional course content includes methods, such as centerlining, time and register calibration, vendor certification, and ink management. Other topics include zeroing the gear train in the press, implementing a successful five-s program, tools for effective waste reduction, tooling use and purchase, and anilox roll care and maintenance.
