Canfor Corp., Vancouver, B.C., Canada, this week announced that it will restart operations at its Quesnel, B.C., sawmill in June. The company noted that its decision to restart operations at Quesnel is the result of its ability to find alternative markets for the mill's softwood lumber. The sawmill will produce approximately 200 million board feet of SPF (spruce-pine-fir) lumber on an annual basis. It will produce metric sizes and its entire annual output (about 700,000 cubic meters) is destined for various regions of China. The company will recal some 155 employees.
