N.A. P&W Shipments Slightly Weaker than Expected

Preliminary North American printing and writing (P&W) paper shipments for July show slightly weaker-than-expected comparisons on both a month/month basis and yr/yr basis, Wilde reports. The most obvious weak spot, he notes, was in uncoated free sheet.

"Coated paper volumes remain positive, but the y/y gains were smaller than we have seen in recent months," Wilde’s comments were based on data recently released by AF&PA, Washington, D.C., USA.
