In uncoated free sheet, the North American market "is just about OK," Wilde says, noting that 50-lb offset roll prices in August rose $5/ton to $930 - $950/ton. Prices for 20-lb repro bond were flat at $1,100 - $1,140/ton. Domtar recently announced a $40/ton price increase on certain premium grades (excluding commodity UFS grades) for deliveries after August 15. Wausau also set a 3% - 5% increase on premium and specialty papers. Discussions with trade contacts suggest that market conditions remain steady (high operating rates and low inventory levels), Wilde adds.
