U.S. P&W Paper Shipments Down in July

Preliminary July U.S. printing and writing (P&W) paper shipments were down sequentially across all grades, Mark Wilde, senior analyst with Deutsche Bank, reports. On a y/y basis, uncoated freesheet (UFS) shipments were in-line with expectations, while coated papers were slightly weaker: UFS shipments were -2.4% y/y, coated freesheet (CFS) shipments were -3.8% y/y, and lightweight coated (LWC) shipments were -14.0% y/y.
