ÅF to Conduct Pre-Project Work for New Stora Enso Bleach Plant

ÅF AB, Solna, Sweden, reports that it has contracted with Stora Enso, Finland, to conduct a pre-project prior to construction of a new bleach plant at that company's Skutskär pulp mill in Sweden, and other reconstruction work in connection with related aspects of the process. The initial order value for ÅF totals approximately SEK 6 million.
ÅF notes that most of the work will be carried out by consultants from the company's office in nearby Gävle, Sweden, but additional specialist resources and competence will be called in from other ÅF offices. The work will be integrated with that undertaken by Stora Enso Skutskär's own project organization.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of this June, after which a formal decision will be made about future implementations.
The Skutskär pulp mill produces bleached kraft pulp used for paper production and fluff pulp, on three production lines. The mill currently has a production capacity of 530,000 metric tpy of paper and fluff pulps, with a workforce of about 385 people
