U.S. Containerboard Production Rises

U.S. containerboard production in March gained 2.5% over the same month last year, according to the AF&PA's (Washington, D.C., USA) March 2012 U. S. Containerboard Statistics Report released this week. Production was up, gaining 7.7% compared with February 2012. However, the month-over-month average daily production increased just 0.7%. The containerboard operating rate for March 2012 gained 0.7 points over February 2012, increasing from 95.0% to 95.7%.
Additional key findings from the report include:
- Linerboard production was up 2.3% over last year
- Corrugating medium production also saw an increase.
