European Pulp Inventories up in April, But down from 2011

Utipulp European April pulp consumer figures show inventories at 666,200 metric tons, an increase of 7,400 metric tons or 1.1% from March, but a decrease of 16,700 metric tons or 2.4% from April 2011. In days, the inventories were at 21 days of consumption, no change from March, but up by one day compared with a year ago. Consumption in April totaled 966,000 metric tons, a decrease of 58,400 metric tons or 5.7% from March, and a decrease of 26,300 metric tons or 2.7% from April.
Pulp inventories at European ports increased in April by 36,800 metric tons or 3.6% to 1,053,100 tons compared with March inventories, according to Europulp. Compared with April 2011, port inventories were lower in 2012 by 47,000 tons or by 4.3%.
