U.S. Box Shipments Edge down

U.S. May 2012 box shipments fell 0.6% y/y on an average week basis, according to Fibre Box Association, Elk Grove Village, Ill., data, reported by Mark Wilde, senior analyst with Deutsche Bank. Actual box shipments in May were up 4.1% y/y due to one extra shipping day this year. While still sluggish, the average week number is in-line with YTD average of flat growth y/y, Wilde notes.
