The need for quality, standardized safety orientation has become more apparent across the pulp and paper industry. Not only has there been a drive for increased safety, but the economy over the past several years has forced the industry to look for a more cost-effective means to deliver contractor safety orientation.
In early 2010, TAPPI took on the challenge of delivering a high quality, cost-effective safety orientation solution. Along with the Alliance Safety Council, which has delivered similar safety training services to the oil and power industries, TAPPI developed TAPPISAFE. And the industry has immediately embraced it as an effective safety solution.
The success of TAPPISAFE to date has been largely due to the great input and support of major mills who participated on the TAPPISAFE Advisory Board and those mills that have launched pilot programs to test the new systems.
Because of this growing support, TAPPISAFE has developed a "Supporter Program" to recognize these companies and organizations. The supporting companies will be included in our marketing and communication literature and on the TAPPISAFE website.
If your organization would like to be recognized as a TAPPISAFE supporter, please contact Simona Marcellus by Wednesday, June 27 to be included in our upcoming communication literature and website.
