The 2012 TAPPI PEERS Conference Pulping Program will focus on the latest technological breakthroughs and techniques available to today's kraft pulp manufacturers.
Sessions regarding how kraft pulping can be improved to produce pulps that are more uniform in quality and at higher yields will be discussed, along with the tradeoffs associated with improving quality and yields.
Other industry experts will discuss how to improve brownstock washing, newest developments in bleach plant control sensors, safety related issues with hydrogen peroxide, new steady-state models for hardwood bleaching, and new raw materials as fiber sources. The Pulping Program has several presentations on dissolving pulp production, as well as chip pretreatments-prehydrolysis for extracting value-added components prior to kraft pulping.
The 2012 TAPPI PEERS Conference, Oct. 14-17 in Savannah, Ga., features a detailed technical program. In addition to Pulping, PEERS has four additional programming tracks of peer-reviewed sessions: Engineering, Environmental, Recycling, and Sustainability – each designed to answer the most pressing business and technical questions faced by pulp and paper companies as they manage raw materials, assets, regulatory requirements, and production assets.
