Kapstone to Rebuild No. 3 Linerboard Machine at North Charleston

The North Charleston, S.C.-USA mill of KapStone Paper and Packaging Corp. has ordered from PMT, Pinerolo, Italy, an upgrade of it No. 3 paper machine. The rebuild includes replacement of the machine's 6.2 meter press section and extension of its first dryer section. Startup of the rebuilt machine is scheduled for the first quarter of 2014.
PMT will supply a new single ÆGOFLX SHOE module with mated ÆGOFLX ROLL as part of the new press configuration. The project is expected to improve the capability and efficiency of PM 3 in producing ultra high performance, lightweight linerboard grades.
PMT will also supply startup and commissioning services.
