September U.S. Containerboard Production Declines

September containerboard production in the U.S. fell 4.8% from August 2012 and 2.2% compared with the same month last year, according to the AF&PA's (Washington, D.C., USA) September 2012 Containerboard Statistics Report issued earlier this week. The month-over-month average daily production decreased 1.6%.
The containerboard operating rate for September 2012 lost 1.5 points over August 2012, decreasing from 97.5% to 96%.
