Sappi Fine Paper North America, USW Ratify New Labor Contract for Cloquet Mill

Sappi Fine Paper North America, Boston, Mass., USA, and the United Steelworkers (USW), Pittsburgh Pa., this week ratified a new labor agreement for Sappi's Cloquet, Minn., mill. "With contract negotiation now complete, the Cloquet mill can continue to concentrate on producing world-class paper and completing the $170 million capital project to convert the pulp mill to specialized cellulose," the company noted.
Sappi Fine Paper North America produces coated fine and release papers and market pulp. It is also a supplier of release papers for the automotive, fashion, and engineered films industries. The company is a subsidiary of Sappi Ltd., a global company headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, with more than 14,000 employees and manufacturing operations on three continents in seven countries.
