Ahlstrom Raises Prices on Beverage Materials

Ahlstrom Corp., Helsinki, Finland, has announced price increases on beverage materials produced by the company's Food and Medical business group. The price increases will be made to compensate for the continued high level of raw materials as well as utilities-related inflation.
The price increases will affect all beverage related products worldwide and will be effective for all orders placed as of July 1. The increase will be up to 5% depending on markets as well as the product and the agreements in place.
Beverage products, manufactured by the Food and Medical business group, include materials for teabags and coffee pods. The Food and Medical business group's main end-use applications are teabags, coffee filters, food packaging, baking papers, masking tape, and surgical gowns and drapes.
