An invitation for papers is underway for the second annual Tissue360 Forum being held at PaperCon 2014, April 27-30 in Nashville, Tenn., USA. All presentations will be peer reviewed for technical merit and commercialism. Any mill personnel, R&D professionals, suppliers, as well as students and academics are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts, as TAPPI is interested in providing a diverse forum for new concepts and speakers.
Our theme in 2014 is "Converting Results." The program will look at ways to improve converting efficiency and reduce broke by delivering tissue rolls best suited for a mill's specific converting technology. We will also look at the newest innovations for increasing value through converting. Topics we are interested in covering include:
Base Sheet / Parent Roll Properties for Converting:
- Experience / research with alternative fiber sources
- Creation of base sheet properties to enhance converting
- Fabric and chemical considerations for enhancing converting
- Parent roll handling to support converting.
Converting Technology:
- Topical treatment application
- Embossing innovations
- Lotion equipment innovations
- Laminating innovations
- Packaging innovations
- Efficiency and cost saving opportunities.
Safety:
- Yankee risks and best practices
- Dust handling/safety.
Interested speakers should submit an abstract electronically to TAPPI's Speaker Management System no later than November 10.
