Faderco Orders Complete Tissue Line for New Mill in Algeria

Algerian company Faderco has ordered from Metso, Finland, a complete tissue line to be installed at its new mill site in Setif, Algeria. Startup of the tissue machine is planned for the second quarter of 2015. The value of the order was not disclosed.

The tissue production line will have a design capacity of around 30,000 metric tpy of high-quality facial, toilet, and towel grades. The raw material for the new lines will be virgin fiber.

Metso’s scope of delivery will include one complete tissue production line featuring stock preparation systems and an Advantage DCT 100+ tissue machine. The machine is equipped with an OptiFlo headbox, a Metso yankee cylinder, an Advantage AirCap, an Advantage WetDust dust system, and an Advantage SoftReel A reel.

The stock preparation line consists of an OptiSlush pulper, OptiFiner conical refiners and deflaker, and OptiScreen screens. Also, an advanced MC20T rewinder with calender as well as roll transporting and wrapping equipment is included in the delivery. In addition to the papermaking process, Metso will supply complete electrical systems and effluent treatment of wastewater coming from the process.

The delivery also includes an automation package with Metso DNA machine and process controls and Metso IQ quality controls. Complete installation supervision, training, startup, and commissioning are also part of the delivery.

Founded in 1986 (and becoming a joint stock company in 2009), Faderco produces baby diapers, adult diapers, and paper products in the industrial complex at Setif, opened in July 2012. In addition, the company has another production facility in Algiers. With both wholesale and direct sales, Faderco’s commercial coverage is 80% of the Algerian national territory. The company exports products to other countries in Northwest Africa and sub-Sahara. It has more than 1,200 permanent employees.
