BASF Raises Kaolin Prices Globally

BASF, Ludwigshafen, Germany, reportedly will increase global prices for paper grades of kaolin, effective immediately or as contracts allow. Prices will be increased by up to 7%, depending on specific products. The company noted that its energy surcharge policy remains unchanged, with the threshold at $5/mm btu.

BASF is the world’s largest chemical company, with more than 110,000 employees, six Verbund sites, and approximately 380 additional production sites worldwide. It serves customers and partners in almost all countries of the world. In 2012, BASF posted sales of EUR 72.1 billion and income before special items of approximately EUR 6.6 billion.
