DeZurik, Sartell, Minn., USA, this week announced the availability of its KSV Severe Service Knife Gate Valve that is specially designed to withstand high pressures and abrasive slurries. Numerous features make this valve style ideal for isolation in high-pressure, high-density slurry lines.KSV valves have a rigid one-piece body, 100% diameter port, hard-faced gate, and rotatable seat rings. They are pressure/temperature rated to ANSI B16.34 Class 150 and 300 and are available in sizes of 3-60 in. (80-1,500 mm). The valves also have bi-directional dead end shutoff capability, a bi-directional drip tight seal, bonnetless design, and a wide variety of hardened seat materials.
The KSV valve has proved itself in numerous abrasive slurry applications such as the oils sands mines in Northern Alberta, Canada, the company notes. In addition, the valve is being successfully installed in a variety of applications in other industries including high density (10%-12%) pulp stock, digester blow down isolation, bio-fuels production, and municipal sludge.
