Voith (Germany) reports that its winder service now covers all three areas—mechanics, automation, and technology. With this "all-round service," the company notes, "there is less coordination effort involved for the paper manufacturer who would normally have to liaise with a number of service providers." In addition, because Voith offers its services as flexible packages, every paper mill can tailor the scope of supply to its requirements. Ongoing inspection and servicing ensure that the winder is constantly in a perfect technical condition, Voith adds. In the process, potential defects are detected and rectified before they can cause problems.Winder services from Voith are offered in three packages—basic, comfort, and premium. Whereas the basic package includes all inspections and function checks as well as a consultation, the comfort package also includes the servicing work and an annual safety check. The premium package offers, in addition, all necessary maintenance tasks from planning through to implementation as well as technological advice, spare parts, and measures to improve winder efficiency.
The problems that can occur due to inadequate servicing of the winder generally result in reduced production speed due to vibrations. The winding quality is also impaired. But with these coordinated service processes, Voith says, winders can be inspected, maintained, and optimized quickly and easily.
