James L. "Jim" Small was employed with two CPA firms and was controller and secretary/treasurer for three Birmingham, Ala., USA, automotive dealerships. He served six years in the Alabama Air National Guard at Dannely Field in Montgomery and Sumpter Smith in Birmingham.
In 1988, the year he applied for TAPPI membership, Jim formed his own executive and management recruiting firm, J.L. Small Associates, successfully recruiting for many southern corporations.
