U.S. Containerboard Output Climbs in January

Containerboard production in the U.S. increased 3.8% over December 2013 and was essentially flat compared with the same month last year, according to the AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) January 2014 U. S. Containerboard Statistics Report released this week. The month-over-month average daily production also increased 3.8%. Shipments for January were 2,979,800 tons, representing 167.8 billion sq. ft.The containerboard operating rate for January 2014 increased 3 points from December 2013, from 91.5% to 94.5%.
