Delion France, a Springwater Capital subsidiary that acquired the Vertaris pulp mill in Voreppe, France, is preparing to restart the facility as a deinked market pulp producer this October. The mill will produce high quality deinked pulp for printing and writing papers, paperboard, and tissue, and does not plan to produce any paper or board products on the site. In fact, the mill’s old paper machines reportedly have already been sold.

Delion France will invest some EUR 15-20 million in the mill at Voreppe, which will have an initial annual capacity of 140,000 metric tpy of DIP. The company plans to increase capacity to 200,000 metric tpy by 2016, with an additional EUR 5 million investment. The resurrected mill will initially create some 70 jobs.

The company also plans to produce 20,000 metric tpy of cellulose-based insulation material.
