Mercury Paper Investing $25 Million to Expand Tissue Converting in Virginia

Mercury Paper, Strasburg, Va., USA, will invest $25 million to expand its tissue converting operations, creating 96 additional jobs by early 2015. Speaking at the announcement this week in Strasburg, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe said that "it’s exciting to see the life and employees and the potential in this (Mercury Paper) building. I am excited to see what happens with the company and its combination of employees and growth is truly exciting. The team at Mercury Paper is making a great product at a great price. I’m sure, with this investment, Oasis Brands’ FIORA® will continue to be the fastest growing brand and a leader."Founded in 2009, Mercury Paper produces household paper products sold at large retailers across the U.S. Key among those products are FIORA toilet paper and paper towels manufactured for Oasis Brands, headquartered in Winchester, Va., employing another 49 associates, and Mercury Paper’s primary customer. Together, these Virginia companies have developed more than a dozen store-brand manufacturing contracts, including agreements with two of America’s fastest growing top 20 retailers.

Mercury Paper is a privately held producer of private label tissue and towels for some of the country’s largest retailers. The company also makes products for the Away-from-Home sector.
