U.S. Kraft Paper Shipments Rise in April

Total U.S. kraft paper shipments in April were 133,500 tons, 4.4% higher than the prior month, according to the AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) April 2014 Kraft Paper Report issued this past week. Bleached kraft paper shipments were 2.6% higher than March, while unbleached kraft paper shipments were 4.6% higher.
Overall, shipments for the first four months of 2014 were 2% lower than the same period last year. Total month-end inventories decreased 3.6% compared with March.
